The 118th winner of the St Leger, held on Wednesday 6th September 1893 over the Old St Leger course on Town Moor, was Isinglass, a bay colt by Isonomy out of Deadlock, owned by Mr H McCalmont. A field of 7 runners contested the race which was worth £5,300 to the winner. (Equivalent to £620,200 in 2017)
